Description
Marigolds add form and function to your garden. These maroon and yellow bi-color flowers are a great producer of many beautiful buds that emit pest-resistant chemicals. Marigolds have long been a staple for organic pest management on farms and in gardens.
To Sow
- Date: Start Indoors: March 1-May 1, Transplant: April 15-June 15; Direct Seed: April 15
- Planting Depth: ¼”
- Special Instructions: Make sure to keep soil temperature above 70 degrees when starting marigold seeds indoors. Keep seed starts close to a radiator or space heater or use a greenhouse heating pad.

To Grow
- For Raised Beds: Intercrop with tomatoes or space plants 18” apart, leaving 18” between rows.
- For Containers: These marigolds will grow big and bushy if given the space, but can just as easily be planted in a window box. The size of the container you choose will dictate the size of your plant and volume of buds.
