Ah yes, the one and only pepper in Frank’s Red Hot pepper sauce, which is the one and only hot sauce that should ever grace the outside of a deep fried chicken wing. Well, that or the tasty batch of smoky bourbon hot sauce I make with a bumper crop of these guys every year. Classic chile flavor and heat, Cayennes are also great for drying, keeping you in steady supply all year long.

- Planting Depth: ¼ in.
- Special Instructions: Make sure to keep soil temperature above 70 degrees when starting chile seeds indoors. Keep seed starts close to a radiator or space heater or use a greenhouse heating pad.
- Germination Rate: 70%
- For Raised Beds: Space plants 12 in. apart, leaving 18 in. spacing between rows. Stagger rows to increase number of plants per bed.
- For Containers: Plant in a deep container measuring at least 5 gallons.
